Nube de Oro was formed in April 1995 by a handful of dancers and their parents whom wished to continue their learning of traditional Mexican dances and give others the same opportunity in a positive environment. It was the enthusiasm of creating, not just a dance group, but an organization open to any dancer with a desire to learn that members continued their endeavor. Ways to promote a positive, family-oriented organization while emphasizing our dancers' folklorico education were discussed.

Our purpose is to teach traditional Mexican folkloric dance, and in this way preserve and promote the positive and beauty of the Mexican culture. To work toward the development of the dancers' folkloric education. To educate our community and our youth through dance. To reach youth in need of positive models and to help strengthen their self-esteem and pride based on the knowledge of their own accomplishments
